How we sell your DVC

Three commitments. Four steps. No surprises.

Our commitments

  • No upfront fees, ever

You pay nothing until your contract sells. Our commission comes out at closing — never before.

  • Non-exclusive listing

List with us and others if you want. We don't lock you in. We earn your business by selling your contract first.

  • Trusted since 2002

Founded by a former Disney Cast Member, DVC By Resale was the first brokerage dedicated exclusively to DVC point resales.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to sell?

Some properties sell in minutes. The majority sell within 30 days when priced accurately for the market. If you aren't in a hurry but want top dollar, we won't pressure you to accept less just to close fast.

How much does it cost to sell?

Nothing upfront, ever. Our commission comes out at closing — not before. Disney also charges a $150 estoppel transfer fee per contract you own, paid at closing. We'll walk you through every cost so there are no surprises.

How do I know what my contract is worth?

The DVC resale market changes daily, and only a real person who knows the resort, allocation, banked/borrowed points, and current supply can give you an accurate number. That's our job. Online calculators pulling stale listings can't.

Why DVC By Resale?

With us, a buyer can purchase your contract at your listed price within minutes. Other brokers require multiple steps because their technology hasn't kept up. We've been doing this since 2002 — our commission is reasonable, our process is streamlined, and our service is exceptional.

Why do DVC members sell their points?

Most owners sell because of a financial change or a lifestyle shift — kids growing up, retirement plans, a new vacation pattern. Selling doesn't mean you ever stopped loving DVC; it usually means life has just gone a different direction. We make the transition simple and judgment-free.

Is it legal to sell my Disney Vacation Club?

Yes. As a DVC owner, you may legally sell your timeshare ownership at any time. We facilitate the sale as a licensed Florida real estate brokerage and have been brokering DVC resales since 2002.

Are you affiliated with Disney?

No. DVC By Resale is not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries. We operate as an independent, Florida-licensed real estate brokerage focused exclusively on DVC point resales.

Does my home resort affect what my contract is worth?

Yes. Resorts vary widely in price per point, annual dues, and how many years remain on the lease. That mix is what determines your contract's market value — we'll walk through the specifics for your resort when you contact us.

When does the lease on my resort expire?

It depends on your resort. Most expire in 2042. Newer resorts run longer: Saratoga Springs 2054, Animal Kingdom 2057, Bay Lake Tower & Grand Californian 2060, Grand Floridian 2064, Polynesian 2066, Copper Creek 2068. Time remaining on the lease directly affects your contract's value.

Can buyers make an offer below my asking price?

Yes — buyers can submit offers below your listed price. You decide whether to accept, counter, or hold firm. One thing to understand: Disney has the right of first refusal on every DVC resale, but as the seller it doesn't impact you like it does the buyer. Once under contract, sellers receive the same amount of money, in the same amount of time (or less) and all terms are exactly the same, even if Disney steps in as the buyer. Your original buyer is effectively "replaced" by Disney and the original buyer loses the opportunity to buy your contract. As the seller, once "under contract" with anyone, your agreed upon bottom dollar should not change. We handle the submission to Disney for you, as part of our services.

What is "Use Year" and does it affect my sale?

Your Use Year is the twelve-month period that resets your annual point allocation. It affects which banked or borrowed points are bundled with your contract at sale — which is part of the price calculation. We'll factor it in when we quote your contract.

How do banking and borrowing affect my contract value?

Banked or borrowed points become part of what's bundled with your sale, which can raise — or in some cases reduce — your contract's value. The status of your points at listing time is a key factor we'll review with you.
